Job Seeker FAQs

Headhunter is easy to set up and super simple to use. Video is the key. Record yourself or have a friend record you while answering different captions/questions that give some insight into who you are. Forget the long job applications and complicated resumes. Create your profile in a few minutes, then look for a job on Headhunter. All job listings are video based, too, so you’ll have a much better idea of the job compared to a text-based job description. Swipe until you find one you like, then select as a favorite. The employer will get an immediate notification and can then view your video resume on Headhunter. If they see a potential fit they’ll “like” you back to create a mutual interest, which opens a direct line of communication. Without mutual interest, no contact data is displayed and no time is wasted.

If your profile is “looking”, then any employer can find you on their HeadhunterPRO app. Employers can filter and screen based on a variety of keywords, location, skills, and certifications. Employers can also get directly to your profile by clicking the notification they’ll receive when you have added their job listing as a “favorite”.

Just FYI… only your first name is visible until mutual interest occurs… mutual interest means they have marked you as a “favorite” and you have done the same thing to their job listing.

Headhunter protects the privacy of employers and job seekers. We also want to be a effective tool and not a spam board. Job seekers can only communicate with an employer if their is mutual interest. If an employer marks you as a favorite, then you’ll get an immediate notification to check out their video job listing. On the other hand, if YOU initiated contact by “liking” their job listing, then the employer will get a notification to check out your video profile. Once you are mutual “favorites” you’ll be able to text, email, or call directly in the Headhunter app.

Click the head and shoulders icon at the top left. This takes you to the profile menu. Click the little “pencil” edit icon and you’re ready to make an awesome video profile!

You can make up to five videos in Headhunter, each no longer than 30 seconds. Use this time wisely! Delete and retake as many times as you want. Choose captions that are easy for you to answer, or you can make your own. Hold the camera steady, speak clearly, and show off your personality and character! These skills, along with communication, are nearly always more important than the hard skills and certifications you listed on your profile… and employers can’t see them in a written job application.

Headhunter supports diversity, fairness and inclusion in every way. Like with any cutting edge technology, there are tremendous advantages with positive outcomes, yet some few people choose to use that technology unfairly. Apps and websites don’t discriminate… people do, and it would occur at any point in the hiring process. Headhunter believes the overwhelming amount of people are good and decent and will use Headhunter to actually INCLUDE the perfect people in their organization in a more efficient way. Just because an employer likes they way someone writes (or pastes) words on an application doesn’t mean they’ll be a good fit. Given how important personality and communications skills are, we think employers should see this at the very beginning of the recruiting process. And who says you are a guarantee to even take the job? Why schedule an interview if you can learn what you want to know BEFOREHAND? Headhunter let’s you see video of their workplace, the supervisor, or anything else they want to show so a job applicant will have a better idea of what he/she is about to invest time and energy on. Headhunter is super easy to integrate in just two steps:

1. Create a video job listing on Headhunter. It doesn’t have to be as detailed as a typical job description. Copy the link for the job listing or email/text it to yourself or someone.

2. Create and advertise your job openings like normal. However, this time paste a simple link to Headhunter inside the job description as an option for applying. You’re done! Sit back and watch how people prefer using an app instead of the conventional job application.

Job seekers will click the link, fill out a video profile, and then you’ll get a notification that they “liked” your job listing. You can click that notification and immediately view their video profile. If there is potential, simply “like” them back. There is now mutual interest and you can email/text/call them via the Headhunter app with with a single click. You can email them a link to your job application, do a phone interview, or set up a face-to-face interview. Here’s a two minute VIDEO on how to do it.

Download the HeadhunterPRO app (Android and iOS) on your device. Create a login and password.

Tap the “profile” icon at the top left. Tap the box to add your image, tap the pencil to edit your basic information, and you’re done! Now you are ready to create a job listing and find a good hire.

Note: Job seekers don’t see your basic profile unless there is an active job listing attached to it.

After your initial login, create your profile.

Click on the “profile” icon at the top left of the main screen. Choose a subscription, then click the red “plus” icon near the bottom right of the screen for Android or the “Add Listing” button for iOS.. This creates a job listing.

Fill in the basics, record at least one video clip with a selected caption (the more the merrier), then activate by tapping the top right of the screen. You can also click the “share” icon to send the Headhunter job listing link to personal references or paste it within the body of your job advertisement in the newspaper, Craigslist, or wherever you normally post.

The videos don’t need to be professionally produced… just have good lighting and don’t move the camera too fast. Data shows people prefer more “real” video. Show who their boss will be and where they will be working. Talk about the environment and typical day-to-day operations.

For video caption ideas just keep in mind what people like to know most:

You can come back and add/edit/delete the text, skills, certifications, and/or video clips of your job listing anytime you want. Just click job listing from the menu and tap away. Choose different captions or anything you want to make the listing more transparent. The more details, the more legitimate the candidates will be at your next stage of hiring.

You can’t communicate until you have both “liked” each other (added each other to the favorites list). Each party will be notified immediately if they are “liked”, then you can click on the other person’s video profile to determine mutual interest.

With mutual interest, three little icons will no longer be “grayed out” next to the job seeker’s profile pic for talk/text/email. You can click and contact the candidate. They’ll be excited to hear from you!
